During whale season, which starts in June and ends in September, you can spot humpback whales on your way to island on this 3 hour whale watching tour. These big mammals are found in Ecuadorian waters during their migration. From Antartica to the coast of the National Park Machalilla they travel more than 7000 km. The young males are the first ones to arrive, followed by the more adult females and males, in July arrive the females ready to reproduce. They carry their babies for 11 months, therefore they say “Las ballenas se hace y nacen en Manabí" (the whales are conceived and born in Manabí). Besides whales it is also possible to observe different species of dolphins.
